About Me

Hello, I’m Tori, I’m from Brighton and I know nothing about bikes. Really… nothing. I can ride one, admire one, squeeze the tyre and confidently complement the owner on their choice of one, oh and I’ve watched someone fix a puncture… once. So for some reason, with my knowledge base seriously lacking, my inexplicable need to jump in the deep end has prevailed and I have decided to try and ride my little blue bicycle around the world. I fear it may turn out to be both over-ambitious and frankly, downright idiotic, but as everyone knows, it’s bad form to start out with a negative attitude so I am totally, completely, certainly, 100% sure that I will pedal happily back into Brighton with over 25,000km under my much shorter belt, a new outlook on life and some dodgy tan lines. Oh yes my friends, this is going to be great!

    1. Hi Sherry and Brad! YES I saw loads! One was even on the trail to the look out point so I had to turn around! It was very cool! Thanks so much for telling me about it! I also got very excited because I saw an armadillo (and not a squashed one although I’ve seen a few of those too as well now!). Thanks so so much again for having me! I hope the snakes cooled down again quickly!

  4. Hey girl! Hope your reunite with the ocean was awesome! We had a great time meeting you last weekend. It was nice to meet a fellow chocolate and coffee lover :)) you’ve got me thinking of what adventures I should take during my “youth”. We’re planing a nice camping trip with the kids this summer and it should be a nice start. Maybe someday I’ll get a bike and ride it across the UK… Haha!
    Happy trails! Cheers! Best wishes!

      1. Haha. I changed my plans and booked a flight to Budapest instead of London. Met some Hungarians in Kawaguchiko and they convinced me that I need to see Budapest, cycle around their big lake and explore the Croatian coast.

I hope you have a fantastic time at Hakuba catching up with your friends 🙂

  9. Hi Tori
I met your dad today at the Hartsdale Pet Cemetery in Hartsdsle New York. The occasion was the InternationalOet Cemetery Convention that was held at our pet cemetery.
He very proudly told me about your adventure to bike around the world. I was totally interested and will follow your progress!
Something so courageous and exciting to do …. Something I would have loved to have done when I was in my 20s. Except I married and had children…and never thought of doing something so wonderful as your trip!

    1. Hi Ginny! Thanks so much for checking the blog out 🙂 I can only apologise for how out of date it is!! Dad told me all about the Convention, it sounded like a super event.
It’s never too late to have that trip of your own! One of the people who inspired me to go for it was a lady who cycled around the world in her early 60’s! So who knows… perhaps I’ll be the one following your blog soon enough 😉

  10. Hi Tori,
my name is Michaela and we met in Sighnaghi, Georgia. I am the girl, who was with this creazy group doing ski tours in Georgia. It was a great pleasure to meet you and I am still thinking of your trip…. amazing… I am travelling as well a lot in the world… but at the moment I do not have so much time… so I have to confess, that I was a little bit jealous 🙂 If you are coming to Austria into the Alps, Innsbruck oder South Tyrol and you are looking for an accomodation or a glas of wine, you are more than welcome at my home. Just let me know (m.brugger@directbox.com)
Enjoy your trip and all the best
